Thank Dave. I loved Android but it was pain seeing "insufficient memory" because HD2 has a limited internal memory...and I didn't want to go back to Windows 6.5 because that looks ugly on HD2.

hi, i installed,everything works:camera,phone,messaging.but when i like to start youtube,internet explorer,google maps or weather app...etc...after 1 or 2 seconds is back to start.

I'm having a major issue. Every worked smoothly until I finished the MAGLDR installing (a screen prompt said the MAGLDR installation will take more than 10 mins but mine was done under 30 seconds!). But in reboot it didn't load MAGLDR bootloader instead its show a purple circular arrow and nothing else. When I tried to rerun the MAGLDR program, I noticed that on the 3rd screen with "Current information about your PDA" heading the image version space is now blank. When I continue the process is still successful but the situation is not changed. I've tried it multiply times with the same results. Can anyone help me?

I feel bad for anyone having problems. Me and others have used the instructions above successfully many times.

Here are some suggestions:
- Use a direct connection to a USB port on your computer (no hubs).
- Many problems can be traced back to a faulty or unsupported SD card. If you have one, try another one. In the context of troubleshooting you could try without one.
- Run flash tools executables (e.g. HSPL4.exe and ROMUpdateUtility.exe) from a local hard drive.

Een ander probleem is de batterij, die gaat echt snel leeg. Ik

Want to ADD here one thing,if you are installing under a Windows 8 environment or Windows 7 or Vista then please use Administrative Privileges (Right Click and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR option) to DWI.EXE file to avoid Installation Failure of the ROM Update.

Ik heb een probleem met detectie van simkaart. Ik heb de rom (20Wp7.8_20OS_207.10.8858.136_20RMT_20v8.7 geïnstalleerd. na een tijdje wilde ik de nieuwste ROM installeren. Hallo ik heb het hele verhaal precies gevolgd en het ging ook erg goed totdat ik magdlr erop had gezet. De telefoon reboot niet maar geeft een wit scherm met de tekst htc. De batterij er uit gehaald en de telefoon gerest maar niets helpt hij springt gelijk weer op hetzelfde scherm. Wat kan ik doen? Help

this is an nice OS for my HTC HD2 and works perfectly, but i cannot install applications cause i need to login with my live id(microsoft) account and still then it popsup with an failed (error) and need an 25 digit activation code or i need to call support (HTC helpdesk) which cannot help me at that point (they said i need to use an gmail account which also not helped). If some1 knows how to get the live id or install applications on an other way, please let me know!!!!

I tried the instructions like running HSPL and MAGLDR when the MAGLDR was finished installing my phone didn't reboot to MAGLDR to continue the process. it just stopped on white screen (htc) and I'm not able to have access to my previous windows as well.
Before installation I didn't copy anything/ troubleshoot/ format my SD card, can you please tell me what is the problem and what I can do to fix this.

When battery is charging, it stops around 91%, then I unplug and plug charger again, and it shows 100%... Sometimes I have to reset the phone, to get battery full... Ik heb Windows Phone 7.8 met succes op mijn HTC HD2 met een 2Gb Micro SD kaartje geïnstalleerd.
De telefoon werkt goed, maar mijn Micro SD kaartje is nu zo goed als vol.
Is er een mogelijkheid om de data van het Micro SD kaartje over te zetten naar een 32Gb kaartje zonder dat ik de rom opnieuw moet installeren?
Ik heb geprobeerd om de data over te zetten naar een ander Micro SD kaarje met Road Kit's Raw Copy, maar helaas helaas veroorzaakte het gekopieerde Micro SD kaartje een foutmelding bij het booten van de telefoon, er werd een kaartfout gemeld.
Ik hoop dat je een andere oplossing voor me hebt.

All, please note there is also plenty of info over at XDA-Developers about activation, there's even a little app to generate the correct type of puk code or whatever it is that they ask for. Of course, you can't tell them you have a HD2 ;) its a "HD7". The phone up method worked fine for me, I have been using pdaimate jam rom for ages, no problems

Hi Dave, First of all my thanks and compliments for the great step-by-step guide. Even I managed to update my HD2. But now I am having some strange and apparently unrelated issues with the phone and I was wondering/hoping if you by looking at the issues, you could see what went wrong:
1) My Wifi connection is shaky. Without SD card, I can find the available networks, but when entering the Password, it keeps returning as an incorrect password (which it isn't)
2) I keep returning to the set-up page as if each time i start-up the HD2, it is the first start-up. Time settings, date, language preferences etc. are all gone
3) Changing the language - in my case to the Indonesian Language - has no impact whatsoever

Perhaps I need to re-do the install, but is that at all possible? Ok, again my thanks for an exellent instruction guide and I hope you (or anyone else ftm) can help me with the final tweeking of my phone.
4) The SD card - formatted to NTFS - is not recognized

Hello Dave, I have installed with a 4GB SD card and remaining space is 199KB. How can I tranfer the files in the sd card to another one so I can have more free space to others applications ?? I use Windows 8.1 in a notebook and using a USB cable notebook does nor recognize my HD2.

ΟΚ, Ι did it everything is very well documented, it works, windows phone 7.8 on the HD2 runs fine, very smooth, very responsive, very slick looking. I love it but unless I can activate it with MS all this will be an exercise on futility. Unfortunately I bricked my HTC HD2 with the above instruction. Don't know what I did wrong.
Step ROMUpdateUtility.exe was finished very quickly, phone rebootet, but it got stuck on the screen with the pink turning donut. Waited for very long, finally removed the battery. Now no button shows any reaction any more :-(

Can't get the ROMUpdateUtility.exe to work. It starts to work, but once it starts trying to identify the phone, it conks out, saying that there's no phone detected. Any help?

Everything worked for me except I was trying to load linux on my device, and I need it to be loaded from the main storage card. But the storage card was only 200M and I have a 16 GB SD card. Do you have any idea how to increase the size of the main storage card ?
